Which cars came with the 1JZ-GTE VVTi engine?

The 1JZ-GTE VVTi was fitted to the Toyota Chaser JZX100 (1996 to 2001) and Toyota Crown JZS171 (1999 to 2005).

Names alone can mislead. Markets and model years used different versions, so always read the code on your engine block or send us your VIN.

The 1JZ-GTE VVTi is also popular for engine swaps. If you plan to fit it to a car that did not come with it, you will need mounts, wiring and an engine computer that suit the swap.

Not sure? Send us your VIN and your gearbox code. We match the engine family, the year window and the parts on the engine before anything is reserved, and the check is free.
