What is the difference between the Chevrolet 53 engines?
GM 5.3 LM7 and LC9 truck engines, the most common Silverado and Sierra replacement. We list: LM7 (5.3 liter (5,327 cc), 213 kW (285 HP), 1999 to 2007); LC9 (5.3 liter (5,327 cc), 235 kW (320 HP), 2007 to 2013).
The versions share a basic design but differ in power, induction, electronics and emission rules. The right one is the one your car was built with, or the one your swap kit is made for.
Each engine in the yard is inspected in Hamburg. The code is matched to the listing, the parts on the engine are recorded, the openings are sealed and the real unit is photographed. You can ask for extra photos, a close-up of the code stamp or a short video before you order.
Not sure? Send us your VIN and your gearbox code. We match the engine family, the year window and the parts on the engine before anything is reserved, and the check is free.
