What should I know about the Jeep JEEP40 engine?

Jeep 4.0 inline-six engines for Wrangler TJ, Cherokee XJ and Grand Cherokee. We list: AMC 4.0 (4.0 liter (3,960 cc), 142 kW (190 HP), 1991 to 2006).

With one version listed, the code is easy to match. The engine computer and the wiring must still suit your car.

The photos on each listing show the actual engine, not a stock picture. The yard checks the code, records what is bolted on, and seals the openings before the engine is offered. Ask the desk for more pictures of any listing. We are happy to show the stamp, the ports and the ancillaries before you decide.

Not sure? Send us your VIN and your gearbox code. We match the engine family, the year window and the parts on the engine before anything is reserved, and the check is free.
