What is the difference between the Chevrolet DURAMAX engines?

GM Duramax 6.6 diesel engines for Silverado and Sierra HD. We list: LML (6.6 liter (6,599 cc), 295 kW (397 HP), 2011 to 2016); L5P (6.6 liter (6,599 cc), 332 kW (445 HP), 2017 to 2023).

The versions share a basic design but differ in power, induction, electronics and emission rules. The right one is the one your car was built with, or the one your swap kit is made for.

The photos on each listing show the actual engine, not a stock picture. The yard checks the code, records what is bolted on, and seals the openings before the engine is offered. Ask the desk for more pictures of any listing. We are happy to show the stamp, the ports and the ancillaries before you decide.

Not sure? Send us your VIN and your gearbox code. We match the engine family, the year window and the parts on the engine before anything is reserved, and the check is free.
